Meet your Local Hero
In Rome your friendly local hero is Giorgia. Before your trip she’ll be in touch to help you prepare for your working vacation and answer any questions. When you arrive Giorgia will meet you and show you around town. The whole time you’re in Rome she’s always ready to assist and just a phone call away.
Ancient, recent, modern
Become a temporary resident of the eternal city on your Roman Workation. The blend of ancient, recent and modern in Rome, and the irrepressible spirit of the laid back locals are all a part of the magic of this magnificent city. Rome’s truly a great city for people watching and with a climate that’s rarely too cold, you can spend much of your time outdoors, as the Romans do.
Capital of Culture & Creativity
Freed from the responsibility of being the financial center of the country thanks to Milan’s dominance in that area, Rome’s able to concentrate on what it does best: history, culture and creativity. Surrounded by the art & architecture that two millennia as a leading light of civilization brings, Rome is a momentous place with cultural diversions aplenty.
A Culinary Wonderland
Although Rome’s own traditional cuisine is based on cucina povera – ‘peasant cooking’, the city’s food scene is diverse. The culinary styles of the whole country are at your fingertips. You’ll love shopping in the local markets, the ingredients you’ll get to cook with will make you reluctant to return home. When evening comes join the locals for an aperitivo, the after-work drink and snacks ritual.
Day Trips
There’s more than enough within Rome’s city limits to keep you fascinated but venture beyond the city limits and you’ll discover a wealth of UNESCO listed treasures awaits. The ancient Roman and Renaissance villas at Tivoli are exceptional. The Castelli Romani, particularly Castel Gandolfo, the pope’s summer residence, are an ideal afternoon out. Towards the coast you’ll find Rome’s very own Pompeii, the ruins of the port city of Ostia Antica. You can even get some beach time in on the sands of Santa Marinella.
Weekend Getaways
In Italy it seems like all roads lead to Rome and so you’ll find there aren’t many places out of reach for a weekend away. The high speed train from Rome to Florence takes less than ninety minutes. A little further on the same line and you’re in Bologna, the ‘beating red heart’ of Italy, a must for meat-eating foodies. Head south to Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast if you want to fall in love all over again.
